Line Editing
In addition to making sure story and character details aren’t accidentally changing, highlighting possible plot flaws, and smoothing out dialogue so it reads naturally and flows well, I will also point out clichés and overused phrases, comment on areas where there might be too much description or not enough description, showing versus telling, and characters acting out of character simply to move the plot along. Proofreading is included so I will also correct incorrectly spaced or missing punctuation and missing or misspelled words. This service is $0.01/word.
Line editing includes:
~A Microsoft Word document with Track Changes markup that includes editing suggestions and comments.
~A Picky Cat style and character sheet outlining the specific details of your manuscript including character names and descriptions, terms, grammar rules and exceptions, and unique spellings for words created by author (especially useful for writers of science fiction and fantasy).
